In continuation of Isfahan Science and Technology Town’s (ISTT) record for organizing 12 previous Technopreneurship Festivals, this year the National Sheikh Bahai Technopreneurship Festival (SHTF) is scheduled to be held from the 27th-28th of April, 2017 in Isfahan.
ISTT is the first and the leading science town in Iran. The Town started its activity in 1993 to promote knowledge-based economic development and to create employment opportunities for university graduates and entrepreneurs.
ISTT holds its annual Sheikh-Bahai Technopreneurship Festival to foster a culture of technopreneurship, creativity and innovation and to identify and encourage technopreneurs throughout Iran and the world. It also aims to introduce and enhance the cooperation between technopreneurs and investors. This is the most important event currently held in Iran in the field of entrepreneurship that brings more than 1000 attendees from different technopreneurial, business planning, private investing and governmental communities together. The festival encompasses all technopreneurial fields of science including healthcare and medical sciences, fundamental sciences, technical and engineering sciences, agriculture, humanities, art, etc.
The festival is to be held in two sections; competitive and non-competitive. This year, more than 665 business plans were submitted to the competitive section of the festival, out of which more than 400 were business plans from university students and the remainder came from other sections of society. After several sessions of judging, 33 have been selected for the final stage of judgment during the festival.
Another 160 business plans have been submitted to the festival secretariat from different start-up companies around Iran. 18 of these plans will also move on to the final stage of judgment during the festival.
This year 90 official investment opportunities have been identified by the festival secretariat which will be presented during the festival to interested investors. The festival secretariat will bring more than 20 investor groups and more than 100 individual investors to the festival.
As it is the first year for the technopreneurship to be streaming live for audiences around the world, a number of these individual investors will be joining the program virtually (For more information visit www.shtf.ir ).
